| The
history of the Joseff of Hollywood jewelry. |
 |
| Mr. Eugene Joseff of "Joseff
of Hollywood" jewelry was the premier
jewelry designer for the majority of
the motion pictures during the 1930's
until the late 40's. He worked together
with Mr. Walter Plunkett a famous clothing
designer making the wardrobes used in
many famous movies such as Gone with
the Wind and other movies mentioned
below. |
| Eugene Joseff, later known as "Joseff
of Hollywood" became famous in
his own right by creating the most unique
jewelry ever seen and "setting
off the mood" for the movies his
jewelry was used in. |
| Tragically, Mr. Joseff passed away
in a terrible airplane crash in 1948
and left his business, to be continued
on by his wife, Mrs. Joan Castle Joseff
who expanded the business into providing
jewelry for Television Stars, serials
and dramas from the 1950's until today.
|
| Mrs. Joseff also provided her jewelry
to the retail market which was sold
at major department stores such as Bullock's.
|
| Most of our Joseff jewelry inventory
was purchased in the late 1980's and
90's therefore we are one of the only
suppliers with the original Joseff collection
that was reintroduced to the world in
the 1980's. |
| Many pieces from our Joseff collection
are one of kind pieces and are in limited
supply. Much of the jewelry in our collection,
may be seen in various jewelry books
written about Joseff, but may not be
the exact pieces displayed since Mr.
Joseff did produce various quantities
his jewelry. |
Some of the jewelry on the market
today is still being assembled at the
Joseff of Hollywood factory on a limited
basis from old findings and crystals,
but the jewelry is not being massed
produced as some people presume. The
jewelry is being supplied to a few distributors
and is in very limited supply.
We hope you also may enjoy collecting
this fine jewelry as we have! |
